J&B Motors · The Mawena Thank You

A Car.
A Friend.
A Thank You.

On the afternoon of 21 April 2026, Boss JB and the J&B Motors family handed Mr Mawena the keys to a restored 1957 Morris Minor. No press release. No big stage. Just gratitude — in metal, chrome, and a red ribbon.

The story of the keys

Some debts can't be paid in cash. They have to be paid in something you can hold.

Long before there was a workshop on the corner, before the marquee, before the queue of cars on a Saturday morning — there was Mr Mawena. The friend who picked up the phone when nobody else did. The one who showed up when showing up was the whole point. The one who believed in Boss JB when belief was the only currency J&B Motors had.

On Tuesday afternoon, he walked through the gate the way he always does — black cap, easy stride, no idea what was waiting for him. He thought it was a catch-up. The team had other plans.

Under the J&B marquee sat a 1957 Morris Minor, white as a wedding shirt, restored by the team panel by panel over months of quiet evenings. A red ribbon ran the length of the bonnet. The card on the windscreen read three words the family had been holding onto for years: long life family.

The 1957 Morris Minor is beautiful in its simplicity — rounded lines, warm character, and a timeless charm that feels both nostalgic and sincere. As a gift, it's not just a car but a story on wheels — a deeply personal gesture that says your friendship is worth preserving and celebrating in something truly enduring.

Boss JB didn't make a speech. He doesn't really do speeches. He walked Mr Mawena up to the car, put the keys in his hand, and said the only thing that needed saying: "Thank you. For everything."

The team clapped. Someone's phone filmed it. The sun did the rest.

We share it here because it's part of who J&B Motors is. The workshop is the engineering. This — the friend, the car, the quiet afternoon — is the soul. Loyalty doesn't go out of style. Neither does a Morris Minor.

For Mr Mawena — from Boss JB and every hand at J&B Motors. May the road be long.
